My training in Haute Couture and wedding dresses
(and what it means for the future of ddLab Milano) 

There are moments when a brand's journey finds its natural evolution.

For me, this moment came in 2024, when I chose to go back to school.
I felt a deep need to delve deeper into Haute Couture modeling and tailoring techniques , particularly those dedicated to wedding and evening dresses .

It was a return to discipline. To the delicacy of hands. To the silence of fabrics taking shape. A return, first and foremost, to myself .

1. Why I decided to do it

Over the past few years, since ddLab was born, I have received several requests to create wedding dresses . And each time, with deep respect and transparency, I have responded. no.

Not because I didn't want to. But because I knew it wasn't my time yet . I'm a clean-cut, honest person. And I felt I didn't yet possess the specific tailoring skills a wedding dress requires.

A wedding dress It's not just any garment : it's memory, emotion, symbol. It's a dress that accompanies one of the most important days of your life .

I couldn't take on a job just for the money.
I couldn't improvise.
I wasn't ready to honor him with mastery .

I preferred to say no to projects—and yes, even significant financial gains—rather than betray my integrity and the trust of those who choose me . This awareness wasn't a renunciation . It was a promise: to myself, to those who choose ddLab, to the fashion I believe in. And it is precisely from that promise that a new beginning was born .

2. What I learned

So I started studying again. With time, energy, and presence . I chose a specific path of:

• advanced modeling
• Haute Couture tailoring techniques
• design and manufacturing of wedding and evening dresses
  

At the end of November I received my certificate, but the greatest achievement is what I carry inside : new tools, deeper awareness, manual skills that become language .

I've learned to develop complex patterns , manage structured volumes, and curate finishes that speak for themselves. This knowledge will enrich everything I create —not just formal wear, but also the poetic daily life of ddLab.

Returning to study was an act of humility and gentle ambition . I chose to stop, learn. And then walk again, stronger, more inspired.

3. A look towards the future

This training isn't an isolated chapter. It's the beginning of a new direction. Starting in 2026, a new branch of the brand will be born, ddLab Haute Couture & Bridal : a line dedicated exclusively to wedding, evening, and formal dresses. Always in the poetic and clean language that is ddLab Milano's hallmark.

It will be an intimate, by-appointment tailoring space , where each dress will take shape with time, attention, and care . Where every woman can feel like herself: radiant and free , on her most important day.

Not a fashion that imposes, but a fashion that accompanies.
Not a packaged dream, but a dream built together .
